It also said there is a difference in strength of the generics, and that SANDOZ is one of the weakest, and Greenstone (a division of Upjohn?) is the closest to the name brand Xanax. Greenstone is a subsidiary of Pfizer,I found out, and supposedly makes the best alprazolam, closest to name brand according.
Can anyone comment on this? Thanks. Val.
The one's I've used have ordered it for me and had in a few days. Love Phillipa. But seriously greenstone is the one to ask for and it doesn't cost more as it's generic. Jelly no not all pharmacies carry the namebrand.

I was at 3mg before. So, anyway, I figured since I was having problems with generics, now would be a good time to try the brand name version.
Generic Xanax. The best generic brands are as follows 1) Greenstone - as they are manufactured by the same pharmaceutical company that makes the brand name pills and 2) Sandoz - they are as close to real thing, as a generic (other than Greenstone) can get to the brand name. My doctor always rights.
once again i agree with goat! you must be getting them at a chain pharmacy. my rx for 60 2mg is 21.00 without insurance.and thats for greenstone. ill admit that i also like actavis(yellow bar R039)ocassionally b/c of the binders and fillers it releases the medicine a little more quickly which is great for if im overwhelmed with anxiety.only drawback is it does not last as long and my insurance does not cover it. those are 26.00 for 60 2mg. still,GREENSTONE all the way in my opnion.
sorry im hogging this thread but i definatly agree with goat about the big chains! they usually carry not so good generics and charge a fortune for them.
The BRAND NAME *XANAX* was patented by Upjohn & Pfizer pharmaceuticals. When the patent ran out several other pharmaceutical companies produced “Alprazolam” (generic name for Xanax) ex Greenstone,Sandoz,Actavis/purepac to name just a few..I have taken Xanax for over 15 years and all.

Regardless if they have been changed they're still much better Actavis and I have heard mixed results on Sandoz. Dava seems to be crap. Took it once (looks to be from Endo who bought out Qualitest). Any opinions on the current state of the generic xanax manufactures? And lastly, no insurance company.
